Dedicated to translating large content, Gicon Studio
It really is an age of content. In an age of content flooding where diverse content is being produced, I think it would be very disappointing if high-quality content only stayed in the domestic market.
Many companies and organizations have heard that language is a barrier to overseas expansion Borderless Creator introduces a high-volume translation job being carried out by Zicon StudioI'm going to do it.
You are our Gicon Studio Translate a variety of contentDid you know they're doing it? Translate close to 5O, OOO words per dayI'm doing it,
I even conducted an interview because one PM was managing a 50,000 word volume. I hope it will be helpful for those who want to translate subtitles for videos such as YouTube for overseas markets.
Q. Please introduce yourself.
Hallo This is Sunwoo from Twigfarm. Communicate with clients and translatorsAnd I am in charge of PM work.
PM: Project Manager. As the director and planner of the project, he is responsible for the efficient execution of the entire schedule. PM is responsible for the overall communication of the project.
Q. What fields are you currently translating for major content, and how much translation does Gicon handle per day?
It's a pity that I can't tell you the client due to security reasons. The content field that is translated these days is mainly It's an entertainment field. In fact, we are translating not only the latest entertainment programs, but also content in various fields that are over 10 years old. What is the workload of Gicon Studio We are working on requests from as little as 30,000 words to a maximum of 50,000 words per day based on English vocabulary.
Q. Isn't it usually difficult to translate tens of thousands of words?
It's difficult. It's so difficult. Machine translation (AI translation) is not an easy task, It's absolutely impossible without machine translation. My company isn't a translation company; it's a company that makes translators.
I don't know how ordinary translation companies do it, but I think 50,000 words is impossible with my common sense, no matter how many people are being recruited. We think it's efficient in that respect.
At the beginning of content translation, the workload was less than 20,000 words per day, but it wasn't easy.
Q. What makes Gicon Studio special?
A combination of two or more translation methods is called hybrid translation. Hybrid translation is the biggest advantage of LETR translators, which are also the core (core) features of Zicon StudioYou can say that.
By combining artificial neural network translation (NMT) and rule-based translation (RBMT), natural and sophisticated translation is possible. Currently, LETR translators have learned to correctly translate frequently appearing neologisms without using a specific glossaryThis is it. It's rare for translators to learn neologisms on their own. Divided into fields, whether it's an ICT (Information and Communications Technology, Information and Communication Technology) dictionary or a patent field dictionary, High-quality translations are also possible by constructing and using the necessary terms in a dictionary.
Save time and money by translating with these LETR translatorsI can do it, so I ended up saying 50,000 words a day It is possible to translate quantities that seem impossibleI don't think so.
*NMT: Neural Machine Translation (Neural Network Machine Translation), RBMT: Rule-Based Machine Translation (Rule-based Machine Translation)
Q. No, but is it actually possible for a PM to process 50,000 words?
This is possible because Gicon Studio drastically reduces time consumption, which is likely to be wastedI can tell you that.
As a personal thought, PIt is thanks to the abilities and skills of the translators that 1 M can process 50,000 wordsI think so. Because if there were more than twenty translators, it wouldn't be possible with just one PM. We can say that this is possible because a small number of elite translators translate and submit within a fixed quota within a fixed time. really Always grateful to the translatorsI would like to give it to you.
Q. What is the translation process for the content that Gicon is responsible for?
First, the translation process is broadly divided into automated and non-automated, and translation can be divided into machine translation and human translation.
Translations are requested from the client to Gicon Studio, and the requested translations are machine translated through LETR. Once the work code is granted, a request is made to the translator, and the translator will deliver the translation within the specified time. When the translator makes the delivery, I confirm the final delivery to the client and proceed.
Generally speaking of machine translation, you can naturally think of Google or Papago. Gicon Studio's machine translation will be the first translation through the Papago API, which is adapted to colloquial language, and modified for the second time with Twig Farm's LETR translator. LETR translators can recognize object names called NER, de-identification functions, and even inspection functions as neededLet's do it.
I can't clearly tell the difference between where automation starts and where does non-automation go. The whole thing is automated, but it must also be non-automated, that is, a human role.
Above all, no matter how smart AI translation is, translation of entertainment, dramas, and creative works in colloquial language must go through human translation because machine translation has limitations. I don't know what the future holds, though.
Q. Are there any interesting episodes?
Speaking of episodes, it's probably a machine mistranslation, right? XD Apparently there's a limit to machine translation right now.
In particular, in the creative works and colloquialisms I mentioned, errors due to neologisms and abbreviations occur, and mistranslations also occur..
Here's an interesting example of a memorable mistranslation,
😅 (In lines showing strength, momentum, power, etc.) “Oh, power! Seda!” ->”Oh, count! count!“
😅 (Exclamation) “Oh!” Even if it's the same number “5" or “five”There are also cases where it comes out translated as.
😁 Words like “bug” mean bug because of the letter “bug” at the end “worm” It is also translated as..
🤣 Even in terms of family titles, “east to west” (title between daughter-in-law) means east and west “East West”to..
😂 The colloquial expression “come to work,” which is a colloquial expression for coming here, means work “Come to work” It is also sometimes translated as
