The translation life of a public institution worker

After all, I planned the content direction to distribute a simple booklet by translating the Korean public institution list file into English, and I enjoyed starting the translation because it was a good idea.
Translation of materials distributed by public institutions that were difficult. How did I handle it? I'll share my own know-how.
1) Name of public institution (collection of terms)

When I first received the file, I was at a loss as to where to start and how to translate it.
I took charge because I knew a little bit of English, but I wasn't a professional translator, and the translation was more burdensome.
First, let's start by researching references to how the names of public institutions are being translatedI decided to try it.
When I search on Google with the keyword “translating the name of a public institution,” one post that appears at the top stands out.
Looking at the title of the post, I think this is probably the resource I was looking for. click.
I got an English list of public institutions all at once through Google. If you drag it, you can copy it, so I think it can be used quite usefully.
Now we need to select words from the list of public institution names, select high-quality sentences, and translate them into English.
Since it's not easy to translate huge amounts one by one, we'll use our friend “Translator,” which is the first thing we find.
2) Initial translation with a translator (comparison translator)

As I read the post, I'll try using the Gicon Studio comparison translator.
The biggest advantage of comparison translators is that you can compare multiple translators at a glance in one place. However, I think it is necessary to check whether the expressions in the AI translation correspond appropriately to the nuances of the original text.
For example, the meaning of “decide” may or may be a decision depending on the context.

There is an expression that stands out when looking at the translated version.
Google Translate translates the Small and Medium Business Bank as Small and Medium Business Bank, and the Public Service Pension Service as Public Pension Service.
It seems necessary to confirm that they are actually using it that way.
3) Custom translation of technical terms (custom translator)

Finally, I tried Gicon Studio's custom translator to help with translation using the name of a public institution.
It is a translator familiar with a specific field, and it helps with translation by distinguishing the names of “public institutions”.
Compared to Google Translator, being able to see it at a glance is beneficial, and I think that if the glossary of terms in a specific field becomes more diverse and numerous, it would be very helpful when translating..
Above all, it was nice to be able to use it for free.

The fact that the terms corresponding to the field I needed were applied in a nutshell is quite attractive. Thanks to this, it was very helpful in creating content by translating the definition of public institutions and the list of public institutions into English.
