Our company is a foreign (Greater China) trading company. The percentage of Koreans is 70%, and the percentage of employees in Greater China is 30%.
Most employees in Greater China are managers, and our company has a lot of reports about whether the corporate culture follows Korean culture. Do you think it starts with a report and ends with a report?

I think the work I've already been given is burdensome, but I'm being given a small translation job because I have studied abroad in Greater China. You guys are the same, right? hehe
When I was first given the task of translating, it took a lot of effort, even asking for advice from a friend. However, asking for advice from friends every time is a huge and small burden, so now I usually use translators. In the case of an in-house official letter or report, the document is simply translated by running a translator like Papago to check it.
Identify the purpose of the translation and who sees the translationAfter doing it, I didn't think I needed that much resource. The work speed is much faster, and I am so satisfied that I can give 7-8 points out of 10 to the self-translation results.
How to use a professional translation company?
Unless it's a particularly important situation, the main purpose is to convey meaning, so I think I should go through a translation company. There aren't any translation companies that really come to mind.
I don't think I'll even look for a translation company even if I see agents like me around me.
After all, I'm just an agent for a trading company in Greater China, but as someone who has been in charge of translation ever since I joined the company, I'd like to share my in-house translation know-how.
Using a translator
The first and most reliable process is to use a translator. Especially when it's an unfamiliar field First, let's run the translator without asking or asking.
Search local portals
Then Target language (Chinese) Search by keyword on the most popular portal site (Baidu or Google, Yahoo Taiwan) on a local basisI'll try it.
We understand how many sentences containing these keywords are used and how they are used through context.
Professional translators buy with dictionaries, but I personally avoid domestic Internet dictionaries because they seem to have a lot of expressions they don't actually use.
Identify industry terms
Repeat the process to collect terms from the same industry. Collect references to how they are being used and compare them. Then there's a “rationale” for the translation.

Let's take a simple example of actually translating an official document using the same method as above.

1. Gather locally used terms. (You need to check if this is a local-only term through a portal search)
2. Search for Chinese (starting language) terms in English (transit language).
3. Search on the most popular local portal.
4. Check references for similar industries.
5. I understand the definition of Chinese terms clearly.
6. Find the definitions of the corresponding Korean text terms.
